Throughout various periods, the timing and opportunities for each person will inevitably differ. Some people are fortunate when life opportunities come their way, simply needing to seize those opportunities and continue forward, pursuing the dreams they are determined to achieve. Others must create opportunities for themselves. But in reality, life is not easy at all.
Many students encounter obstacles to pursuing undergraduate education but are unable to continue their studies because they must work continuously, waiting for the day when they are ready both financially and time-wise to return to their studies. Certainly, by the time we are ready both financially and time-wise, we may have lost our motivation.
Today, many universities, not only in Thailand, prioritize online undergraduate programs because they recognize this as an opportunity for working students to pursue their education without affecting their work. The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce itself was the first university to develop this online undergraduate program to meet the needs of students or interested individuals who wish to pursue their studies. With the experience in developing learning systems, or what we call Learning Ecosystems, by the team and faculty who collaborated in development, many students have become interested and applied in increasing numbers for every admission round. Looking back 10 years ago, before today’s online undergraduate programs existed, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce had already developed online teaching and learning systems at the master’s degree level, resulting in a continuous significant increase in applicants and student numbers from cohort to cohort, now reaching the 33rd cohort. Not only external individuals are interested in our programs, but many organizations also place importance on these programs.
When professors are more than professors
When discussing current teaching and learning content, students will certainly learn the core content of each subject. But do you believe that the online undergraduate program you see and understand in the way you think it is, is definitely not what you have imagined? Because professors do not only teach through the system or videos, but they also serve as academic advisors and even as consultants while their students are running businesses.
Until now, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce continues to advance the development of online teaching and learning systems because we firmly believe and are committed to remaining a center of knowledge and never stopping the development of learning processes that align with the current era to best meet learners’ needs.
Finally, many people may wonder whether studying for an online undergraduate degree will provide friendships like regular programs. The answer is yes, just like regular programs. Online undergraduate programs still include homework, assignments, individual work, and group work, just like regular programs. However, all work and homework are completed online without the need to travel.
